Action meeting in Durham: The Monster Voting Law

Got the following in my email this morning. I may go to this. I hope others will too:

Earlier this week, Governor McCrory signed H-589 (aka the Monster Voting Bill) into law. In light of the upcoming changes to North Carolina’s elections, Democracy NC is holding a series of community action meetings across the state in order to inform and mobilize North Carolina voters.

We want to invite you to our Triangle area action meeting on Thursday, August 22. We will answer your questions about the new law, discuss strategies to counteract its potential negative impact on voter participation and map out your volunteer opportunities with Democracy North Carolina.

Step Up! Take Action Against the Monster Voting Law!

Where: Westminster Presbyterian Church (3639 Old Chapel Hill Rd, Durham – only 30 minutes from Raleigh!)
When: Thursday August 22. Refreshments will be served at 6:30pm, the meeting will start promptly at 7pm.

Seating is limited, so make sure you RSVP today. Also, please consider carpooling with your friends! Meeting agenda and further details available soon.

See you there!

Onward,

Your Democracy NC Team
