I am so proud of my Town of Chapel Hill--which SLAMMED Gov. McCrory & the State Legislature for HB 2

(This is a cross post from GD--want to be sure other DU'ers in NC see it.)

tonight at a special Town Council Meeting. They were called out for discriminatory intent, lack of knowledge and understanding, and lack of respect
for LGBT people and strongly condemned for "supporting this intolerable act of hate".

The Town Council called for repeal of the bill and for the Town Attorney to "explore joining lawsuits that may be brought to address the inequities present in the law."

For the full text of the Resolutions, Attorney's Memorandum, and the Text of HB 2 see this:

I urge people to click on the link and read the really strong wording of the Resolutions.

Thank you, Town Council of Chapel Hill.

I just heard tonight that the NBA, NFL, PayPal, Lowes, and a number of other businesses are very upset that they're doing business in NC, and are contemplating ways to cure that. PLUS, Rachel had a lawyer on her show that explained a lawsuit that ha been filed against the Governor and several others on Constitutional grounds & Title 9. A little arm twisting goes a long way.

The Governor of New York has issued a travel prohibition for State employees to come to NC, unless it was deemed "essential".
The Mayor of San Francisco has already ordered the same thing for city employees to prevent them from coming to NC.

The Governor and his merry band of bigots seriously underestimated the blowback on this, which is not surprising.
They live in a bubble. They don't listen to anyone who isn't part of their gang and don't care what other people
think if they didn't vote for them or give them $$ to run for office. Plus, they are mean-spirited, hateful, ignorant people.
They are unscrupulous, power mad, and greedy. They are just a$$holes. Seriously real a$$holes.
