More republicans, fewer democrats register to vote

The Oklahoma Election Board says the number of registered voters in the state has fallen to just under 2 million.

Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax released the agency's annual voter registration statistics Wednesday. They show the state has 1,978,812 registered voters including 885,609 Democrats, 854,329 Republicans, 238,870 independents and four Americans Elect registrants.

The total is down slightly from just more than 2 million registered voters in the state in 2012.

While there are more registered Democrats than Republicans, the statistics indicate the margin is narrowing. A total of 44.8 percent of registered voters are Democrats and 43.2 percent are Republicans. Ten years ago, 52.8 percent were Democrats and 37.1 percent were Republicans.

in favor of marriage equality. One thing you can't tell a Baptist is that he's equal in any way to another flavor of sinner.

I think many Democrats feel like their votes won't count in OK anyway, so they don't vote... and the prophecy thus fulfills itself.

But I'm just guessing.
