Art Robinson the Nutjob is Running for Congress Again

It what has become a biennial tradition in the fourth congressional district in Oregon, the landscape is once again littered with Art Robinson signs and we are reminded of this crackpot who is seemingly never going to give up in his quest of replacing Peter Defazio; our longtime Congressman.

He ran in 2010 and lost. In 2012, not only did he run, but his son Matthew also ran in the primary on the Democratic ticket against Congressman Defazio….suffice to say, they both lost. And so here we are in 2014 faced with another run by Art Robinson. Seemingly the only thing different this time is that in the interim Dr. Robinson has asked Oregonians to send him urine samples in the name of some sort of scientific experiment (this is true).

I’m sure by now Oregonians (and the rest of the country?) are all too familiar with Robinson and his assertions that radioactive waste is good for us and should be dumped in the ocean and put in foundations of homes, that AIDS is a government conspiracy, that public schools should be abolished and his home-school curriculum kit containing a 1911 Encyclopedia Britannica, a King James Bible and novels written by G.A. Henty...an unenlightened racist, represent true academia. And we’ve probably all seen his classic meltdown on Rachel Maddow’s program.

This short film was produced in 2012 to highlight just what Oregonians would be getting if they voted for Art Robinson. But it is still relevant today, and highly entertaining!

He has a couple of debates coming up shortly in Eugene and Coos Bay with this raving loon Art Robinson. Art is a nut, but a dangerous nut. A dangerous nut who sent out requests to a random selection of Oregonians to kindly send him urine samples for a scientific experiment he was working on in his laboratory in southern Oregon. Funny, never heard what kind of results he achieved. Have to admit it's a new twist to campaign tactics, though! "Vote for Art and send me your urine specimens, too!"

Rachel Maddow reported on him before and that level of crazy is hard to ignore!

Except I really doubt that I could tolerate the local loons that will show up in droves to yell at
my favorite Congessman. I live among tea party nuts who foam at the mouth at the sight of a Democrat.

Signs all over here, one says he wants term limits not professional pols, he is a professional candidate... runs and runs and runs, see people with signs in yards and on cars just tells you who the dumb ones are. Where I live is a red enclave for sure, sometimes get nervous with my DU bumper sticker..

The signs are big and plentiful, but then again one major business owner here has stated that she thinks Palin is pretty smart and would have been a great VP

hoping that he'll run again in 2 more years. I just did a road trip from Eugene down I-5 to Conyonville yesterday. There are some Art Robinson signs up, but they are smaller and fewer than the last time he ran 2 years ago. I believe that Art Robinson's high water mark was reached in 2010 the first time he ran when he was relatively unknown. The more you learn about that paranoid loon the fewer votes he gets.

gahhh! so disturbing. they were printed on 5"x7" heavy postcard stock. someone who would elicit urine samples while running for office has no boundaries - other than those around his pacific science institute compound.

the man creeps me out. and his son, too.

what is even creepier ~ he was appointed head of the republican party in oregon. cannot believe there are so many righteous ranchers and farmers & republicans whose businesses thrive on their business acumen would choose someone so reprehensible. the koch brothers have dumped millions into his campaign against peter defazio.
