The case came together because career government staffers were willing to blow the whistle on their political appointee bosses.

Charges were filed against the former CEO of the Turnpike, the former Chair of the Turnpike Board, a currently imprisoned State Senator, the owners of two corporations, and others.
Currently imprisoned State Senator Vince Fumo has been assumed by the Press to be the unnamed Phila. Senator who is also described.

By the way, Fumo and the 2 NE PA judges in the kids for cash scandal were all prosecuted by federal officials, after years of inaction by the AG. Fumo in particular was an obvious "target rich environment," and allegations against the kids for cash judges was ignored by the PA. Supreme Court.

given to people who know nothing about the departments or issues that they are responsible for may not be as sought after in the future. And that would be a very good thing. And maybe bosses will think twice about being assholes or not listening to the professionals under them. And that, also, would be a good thing.

And three cheers for Kane, who seems to be taking her job very seriously.
