Corbett's brief: Penn State sanctions will cause other colleges to make more money on sweat shirts
Many people believe that the NCAA sanctions against Penn State were excessive, and unfair to current students who were not to blame. However, the time to argue that point was by the Board of Trustees - before Penn State signed the agreement. Let's remember that One Term Tommy was one of those Trustees.
So, after his poll numbers fell down a sinkhole, many months later, Corbett decided to file a court challenge against the NCAA. The court is trying to decide whether to throw out the lawsuit. Corbett's State attorneys actually argued before the judge that the NCAA sanctions against Penn State are causing a competitive advantage for other NCAA colleges. These other colleges, the lawyers claim, will be able to increase their tuition at a faster rate and charge more for their sweatshirts because of the sanctions against Penn State.
I swear I'm not making that up.
After hearing these arguments, the Federal Judge hearing the case said "I feel like we are not even in the same stadium."
