Excerpts:
"He promised to pump more money into education at all levels from preschool to higher education and also ticked off a list of achievements in his five years as state treasurer, including acting as a fiscal watchdog, fixing problems with the state's 529 college savings plan and cutting his office expenses.
"I did not expect so much of my work to boil down to fighting a bad governor, time and time and time again," McCord said, citing his opposition to cuts in education spending and plans to privatize the state lottery. "I feel like Kathleen Kane and I are kind of like Marines, often in a retreating action, often pretty badly outnumbered," he said.
McCord peppered his speech with digs at Corbett, repeatedly invoking the words "crony capitalism" and "corporate welfare" to describe his policies and promising to "evict" him from office."
