Passage of PA. Transportation Spending Bill being held up by fight over union wages

http://www.mcall.com/news/nationworld/pennsylvania/mc-pa-corbett-transportation-1112-20131112,0,1442483.story

There are only a few scheduled days left this year for the Legislature to act. The Senate had passed a funding bill by a large majority early this year. The House Republicans didn't want to be the ones to vote for a gas tax increase - they wanted the Dems to provide all of the votes. However, the Dems balked when the Repubs slashed public transit funding. The leading teabagger said public transit funding was just "welfare."

Now public transit funding has been restored in the proposal, but they are fighting over current requirements that union-level wages be paid on state funded transportation projects.
