Related: About this forumDon't read this summary of PA's investigation of Sandusky, unless you want to get very very angry
http://www.yardbird.com/Silent_No_More_Inside_The_Glass_Palace.htmThe link is to a summary of what is known about the PA. state investigation of Sandusky, after a boy made a credible accusation against him in 2008. Sandusky would not be criminally charged until 3 years later. The Centre County District Attorney said he had a conflict and could not handle the case, so the PA. Attorney General's office under Tom Corbett took it over. However, no one can explain why the Attorney General's office didn't let the Clearfield County DA investigate and prosecute, because these crimes actually happened in Clearfield County.
This account is based upon input from many persons, including Aaron Fisher, the boy who made the accusations against Sandusky in 2008. This account also includes input from child psychologist who was assigned by the county to help Aaron at the time, and who wrote a book with Aaron entitled Silent No More.
"Here's the central question: what exactly was everybody doing on Aaron's stalled case all that time, other than watching Tom Corbett run for governor?
Not much, except leaking to the press, and offering excuses.
After the botched June 16, 2009 grand jury experience, for the next year the case dragged on with nothing much happening, except that Aaron grew increasingly depressed, and even, at times, suicidal. Aaron would be called to two more disastrous visits before a grand jury, on November 16, 2009, and again on April 11, 2011.
In recent months some in the media have inaccurately suggested that AG Corbett put the case on a "slow walk." No, the book's authors report, the case repeatedly was knocked backwards to square one, was now at a dead stand still, not even a crawl, and certainly not a "slow walk."
The link also describes how the female State Police investigator who usually handled crimes against children in this area of the state was not assigned to the case. The Attorney General's highly respected Child Protective Unit was also not assigned to the case, even though they specialized in these types of crimes.
