PA. has missed out on $430 million because of lack of gas extraction tax

For many years, PA. Dems have been seeking that PA. adopt a gas extraction tax. Every other state with a significant gas industry has this type of tax - including Texas, which Corbett says is his model state.

PA. could have raised over $430 million more in the last 3 years in tax revenue from gas extraction if PA. had adopted the same 5% tax rate that is in effect in West Virginia. As gas production rapidly increases in PA., Corbett's impact fees are not increasing.
