Related: About this forumPA. Republican Party Shifts Their Attacks from Schwartz to Wolf
http://triblive.com/opinion/josephmistick/5624609-74/wolf-gop-tom#axzz2u9zyUfWEI bet there is polling data behind this shift in attacks.
The whole article is worth reading. Excerpts:
"And last week, the harpoons were flying as Megan Sweeney, communications director for the Pennsylvania Republican Party, targeted Wolf with a barrage of charges, labeling him Tax-raising Tom Wolf and declaring, When in doubt, Wolf will tax it.
...It is clear that Wolf has recently acquired some powerful political enemies but he has come by them honestly. They are sufficiently afraid of him or his message to hit him hard now, lest they have to face him later.
Democrats have taken notice as well, enticed by the resonance of Wolf's message that economic loyalty goes both ways, encouraged by the positive response of their rank and file. And these Republican attacks, conceding Wolf's crossover appeal, have some Democrats thinking they might have found their candidate. "

(4,482 posts)I emailed his campaign for his stance on the environment. They responded quickly with a detailed explanation and link. I like his ideas.

The fourth section of his "Fresh Start" policy covers the environment.

(369 posts)I like him because in his ads, he states he has a Ph.D., is a successful businessman and shares profits with his employees. He drives a clunker and his daughters like him.
Sounds like the best candidate the Dems can support in PA. Hopefully, he can undo the damage that Corbett did to the state.

(11 posts)Wolf had a 35 percent increase, hes running a hell of a campaign. Schwartz is no longer front runner. Hes got the outsider going for him, business savy and successful which will pick up moderate republicans, and hes liberal enough to get the base behind him. Perfect storm.

(6,819 posts)He had sold off his family's large kitchen cabinet business, and was about to run for Governor in 2009/2010. Then he found out that the new owners of the company were having trouble surviving the Recession (which had stopped new home construction). There was a high risk that all of the employees would lose their jobs. He cancelled his run for Governor, bought back the company and restored it to financial health.

By the way, yesterday Corbett only attacked one Dem candidate - Tom Wolf. He criticized Wolf for seeking a gas extraction tax.
