Activists amazed Corbett will rearrage $157K of Fed $ to avoid $3 Billion in food stamp cuts

We have set the bar so low for Corbett that we are amazed when he takes the most basic action to help poor people. He has re-arranged $157,000 of existing federal heating aid money so that hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians will be able to avoid $3 BILLION of cuts in food stamps/SNAP benefits. This is in response to a recent action by Congress.

In effect, PA had to pay at least $20 in federal heating aid benefits to a household before that household is eligible to keep their current level of federal food stamp benefits. NY and Connecticut had already made this adjustment, but everyone is amazed that Corbett cared enough to do it.

It made the front page today of the Phila. Inquirer - Corbett actually does something right.
