New PA. Budget - The Year of Magical Thinking. Passed on strict party line vote.

http://pennbpc.org/senate-budget-update-year-magical-thinking

This analysis describes some of the smoke and mirrors that the Repubs used to pass a budget that appears to be balanced, without enacting a fracker tax and while still allowing a fourth straight round of business tax cuts.

The budget passed on a strict party line vote in both houses, except one Repub Senator with a tough Dem challenger did not vote for it.

Once again, the Dems were completely locked out of the process of creating the budget. The repubs will only talk to the Dems when they want someone else to blame for a tax or fee increase.

and they probably already know that there will be a Democrat in the Governor's seat when the shit hits the fan. Most of this budget is based on robbing the future by depleting all excess funds hiding anywhere. Next year, they are gone. They also know that taxes must be increased unless they are willing to make deep cuts, cuts that will affect the legislature as well as the citizens. So they are going to pass the tax increases onto the next governor as well.

Well played, assholes.
