5 PA. Public Universities Plan another round of layoffs

http://www.pennlive.com/politics/index.ssf/2014/07/state_universities_faculty_lay.html#incart_m-rpt-1

Corbett tried to cut all state funding of all public universities by a total of 50%. He tried to do it twice. Moderates in the legislature were able to get his cuts reduced to 18% to 25%, followed by a funding freeze. With inflation, the state's funding of public universities is down 25% to 35% during the Corbett years. Over 1,000 positions in PA. public universities have been eliminated, with more to come.

Here's some facts on Corbett's AND the Republican legislators' cuts to public schools and colleges in PA. In most cases, no Democrats voted for these cuts, but they were completely shut out of the budget process.
