Here's the Repubs who tried to suppress the vote with unconstitutional Govt. Photo Voter ID law
Let's remember the Pa. Senators (all of them Repubs) who tried to suppress the vote of minorities, low income citizens, and senior citizens by passing a law requiring that every voter show certain types of government photo Id at the polls.
The law was written so that many common types of ID could not be used, such as photo ID from a college in a neighboring state or any ID that did not have an expiration date (which included most non-government IDs at the time). Also, in order to get an ID, a person often needed to present an official birth certificate, which was not easy for persons born in other countries or Puerto Rico (which had a 4 month wait list at the time to get official birth certificates).
This PA. law was later found by the courts to be unconstitutional.
