PA's Drilling tax proposal sparks blowback

Drilling tax proposal sparks blowback
By Timothy Cama

The U.S. oil and gas industry is mounting an aggressive campaign to beat back a Pennsylvania proposal to impose a new tax on natural gas production in the state.

Maybe that tax can be used to repair and maintain the roads to which fracking trucks cause so much wear-&-tear. A 'fix' for Corbett's corporate welfare gift when he raised a number of transportation abd other fees that affect PA citizens and gave frackers a free infrastructure ride.

"Susquehanna Polling Research has found that 70 percent of the state’s voters support a severance tax."

The drillers have been getting away with murder, and the citizens of PA know it.

They are paying a severance tax in every single gas/oil producing state, so I don't see why they are so upset....well, except that they spent a large amount of money to get Corbett re-elected. Money down the rabbit hole.
