The Stein campaign doesn't yet know if Montgomery County will even be eligible for a recount. They say that this should be determined by sometime Monday. If Montgomery is eligible then I need 2 people other than myself who voted on machines in precinct Norristown 1-2, and are willing and able to sign notarized affadavits on Monday. (It may be possible to sign today, Sunday, but I'm not sure if there is a notary available on Sundays).
Please see this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdol6qnYgA9_nXjECFwJcPdZj1Q8VrZD0arOJETg0cDr-bkcA/viewform
and let me know on here in a private message that you are willing and able to participate. Please note that I have no special contacts with the Stein campaign and that I don't know much more about this than you do. I'm kind of working in the dark here based only on emails I've received from them.
Editing to add: Montgomery is now listed as eligible, so 3 affadavits are needed for each precinct. If you voted in any Montgomery County PA precinct please check out the above link and help!

(157 posts)1. Montgomery County appears to use the Sequoia (Dominion) AVC Advantage DRE-Push Button, which does not offer a Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trail.
"At the close of the polls, the AVC Advantage communicates vote totals to election officials and to the public: it prints a paper printout of candidate totals, it writes these totals (along with a record of the votes cast in each ballot, the ballot image) to a Results Cartridge, about the size of a VCR tape, that is then removed from the voting machine. Finally, it keeps these totals (with the ballot images) in its internal memory. Election workers can extract this information from the AVC Advantage by using the menu buttons on the Operator Panel: the machine can be instructed to print the internally stored data onto its printer, or copy it to a fresh cartridge."
2. However, since ballots as submitted are anonymous, ask also to see the Absentee Ballots which might allow an actual paper trail.

(16,230 posts)Currently Lehigh is NOT listed, so that means it's a maybe and could change. Read the instructions at that link. They give an email address that you can contact with questions. I'm not the one to ask. I don't know much more than you do.

(157 posts)Optical Scan machines ...
Pennsylvania (and other states) = whether or not your county is 'eligible', citizens might be able to count some ballots independently, especially if interested in more than just the presidential results.
As Optical Scan machines read a ballot, they capture an anonymous image of it. Use a certified FOIA request to election officials to demand the images. Follow up with a call. Go in person and take along a couple of brand-new, still-wrapped flash drives and download the images. Count the votes, placing into a spreadsheet to track them efficiently.
Hopefully, this website is up-to-date on who used what and when --

It now includes this:
Edited to add this: Now that paragraph is gone and Northampton is listed as not eligible. This is getting confusing.

(157 posts)Is it possible with the DRE Push-Button/ Touchscreens to get copies of the 'ballot images'?
For instance = "The AVC Advantage . . . keeps these totals (with the ballot images) in its internal memory. . . . the machine can be instructed to print the internally stored data onto its printer, or copy it to a fresh cartridge." Montgomery & Northampton use the AVC Advantage.
Use a certified FOIA request to election officials to demand the images. {Follow up with a call if needs be.} Go in person and take along a couple of brand-new, still-wrapped flash drives and download the images. Count the votes, placing into a spreadsheet to track them efficiently.
If no attempt is made, we'll never know whether it was possible or not.
