I had no idea of just how daunting a recount in this state was. You need 3 registered voters in each PRECINCT to sign petitions/affadavits/whathaveyou to request a recount. There must be 100 precincts in just my little county.

But, the state supreme court is 4-3 D and even before that, they came down very hard on the state GOP's voter ID law and declared it unconstitutional.

Pennsylvania is a weird state what with Wm Penn having written a constitution that made a point of everything being equal and all residents being treated equally. Maybe the court will decide the recount requirements are somehow unfair/unequal. I guess we'll see.

until I read the crazy hoops to jump through. I don't even know three registered voters in this backwater precinct. Then it had to be notarized (in person) and delivered to the judge of elections. I give huge thanks to those who went through this ridiculous process.

I read that about 1500 precincts (out of over 9000) have made the cut. It would be nice if Gov. Wolf would take a look at how restrictive our state election laws are, including no early voting and draconian absentee ballot rules.

A hearing has been scheduled on a Green Party-backed request for a court-ordered recount of Pennsylvania's Nov. 8 presidential election, won by Republican Donald Trump.

The order for a Dec. 5 hearing came a day after the campaign of failed Green Party candidate Jill Stein filed the request.
