Bob Mellow's $246,000/yr state pension

That is NOT a typo. After 40+ years in the state senate, Mellow is due over $20,000/mo in pension payments. Mellow lost his pension when he was convicted of using employees to work on campaigns during office hours in federal court. He's trying to get it reinstated. I would, too!

Now, I support public service, Democrats and pensions, but this is a mind boggling pension. It's no wonder PSERS is "underfunded". Our far legislature would like to resolve the pension problem by making teachers and other public employees take less money/move to a defined contribution system. I think I am waiting to hear what our state senators and representatives have in mind to curb their own pretty darn generous pensions.
