Howe for PA11.

The history of human civilization features one consistency from the start through today. Nations with small and weak governments have been dominated by nations with large and powerful governments. This is how empires arose. This is why we experienced a long period of colonization. This is how our own country expanded to its current dimensions. Trying to make our nation's government small and weak endangers all of us.

Republicans argue strenuously that government is "the problem, not the solution," that government can do nothing and yet can do immense harm, and can do nothing to help its citizens beyond infringing their liberties.

Let me suggest that when we elect into government people who believe your government cannot help you, those people are not going to break their backs trying to prove themselves wrong. Rather, they will accomplish nothing if only to show you they were right. Or, they will do harm to you to prove that point--witness the GOP's efforts at destroying the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, a bit of government helping people that drives Republicans mad.

Democrats believe government can work for you and do good things for you. That is precisely why the Founding Fathers gathered together and drafted our Constitution with a preamble that describes exactly what we are to do. Democrats and the Founding Fathers also understand that government is necessary to protect the free exercise of your rights and liberties--to protect you from the tyranny that would crush your liberty.

When you elect Democrats, they, like the Republicans, will do all they can to prove they are right. Rather than tear down government, weakening the nation and exposing you to harm, they will ensure we have strong communities and a strong nation.

I was stationed with him in Japan a few decades ago.

He had a successful Air Force career and went on to do some impressive things after that.

He's trying to unseat a talent-less Trump nibbling hack Lou Barletta in rural central PA

here is an ACT BLUE page if you're so inclined to donate:

And I hope that some people are moved to donate, his first FEC filing shows that he has $824 on hand. The election is 15 months away, so I hope he'll get some traction.

I've met a few politicians in my life, but Al is the first person I knew who went on to become a politician.

In the military you get a pretty good read on character and intelligence and I am proud to call him a friend.
