Susan Smith of Pawley's Island running for state Democratic chair
Democratic activist Susan Smith of Pawley's Island on Wednesday announced her bid to seek the chairmanship of the South Carolina Democratic Party.
The selection will be in April at the party’s state convention.
Smith is president of the S.C. Democratic Women's Council and Southern regional director of the National Federation of Democratic Women.
She has served on the state party's executive committee and executive council, and was a 2008 and 2012 delegate to the Democratic National Convention.
