North American Football League chairman, wife arrested in Murfreesboro

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The chairman of a football league that never played a game was arrested Monday in Murfreesboro, along with his wife.

Christoper White, 46, and Tracy White, 47, were taken into custody on felony charges from Florida stemming from the North American Football League, which the Whites allegedly claimed to be creating.

The NAFL was supposed to open its inaugural season in 2016 with eight teams playing a spring schedule with expansion plans to 16 teams throughout the U.S. One of the teams, the Memphis Kings, was to be based in Tennessee.

League play did not begin in 2016 and no further announcements have been made as to a start date.

Other than the abortion bill there weren't many things happening in Tennessee during the latest news cycle. It also doesn't help that Gwinnet owns most of the major newspapers in the state--less competition means that there is less high-quality journalism, investigative pieces, and critical editorials.
