URGENT! PLEASE HELP! Search for Missing Man in Middle Tennessee

This man is a dear friend of mine. He was my high school sweetheart, and we were married for 9 years during the 70s. He has been missing since last Wednesday. Please click the link and read more. There is a video at the link, too, that aired on Channel 5 Sunday night. PLEASE post the article and video anywhere else you can to help us find our friend.

We are desperate to learn the name of the older man he was supposedly with when he disappeared. He is believed to have been with this man on the way to place a bid on a stone masonry project at the site of a home being built for this man's daughter. Without knowing the identity of this man, they don't know where to even begin looking.

6. Here's what I know so far:

More detectives have been assigned to the case -- originally, there were only two. (I am thinking this may mean it's been upgraded to a criminal case, but am unsure about that. It may simply be a response to the news media becoming involved.)

Friends have mapped out the area in grids and are organizing search teams. Some areas have been searched already.

There was a 3-hour aerial search from a small plane done by friends Monday morning.

Building permits are being pulled in Wilson and DeKalb Counties to target possible building sites where they may have been headed.

ATT is in the process of coughing up needed phone records.

Businesses are being contacted in the construction industries for any possible leads.

Videos are being scrutinized (I assume security videos in the area where he was last seen).

8. Still no leads. :(

David's family drove down from Michigan--his brother and 2 sisters, to try to help find him. Channel 5 came out and interviewed them. That aired Tuesday night.

So, far, NO ONE has come forward with any information that will help them find him, or even know where to start looking. This is maddening. I am losing hope that he will be found alive--trying not to go there, but it's been almost a week now.

From what I can tell, the authorities are being of little use in this. Friends and family with no real experience or training in search and rescue are having to try to organize this massive search effort to try to find David. Something just seems so horribly wrong with that. The man didn't run away. He didn't go into hiding. He is MISSING, and very possibly injured. I am sure if it was someone "important," like, let's say, the mayor's son, there would be an all-out effort to find him with dogs and helicopters and the National Guard, if needed. This is making me angry and breaking my heart at the same time..

There were massive searches mounted on Saturday with the K9 team, people on 4-wheelers, 4-wheel drives, and many many people in cars and trucks searching on foot. So far as i know at this hour, they found NOTHING.

No one has volunteered any concrete information. No other persons have been reported missing (and we KNOW he was with someone). It is all just baffling. Nothing makes any sense.

They will be searching again tomorrow.
