Rick Perry supporters organize to raise money for national campaign

Top supporters of Gov. Rick Perry have started to build the infrastructure that will help the governor spread his message and test the waters of another presidential run.

Austin lobbyist and former Perry chief of staff Mike Toomey with top contributor Brint Ryan sent out a notice today to contributors of Make Us Great Again that they’re gearing up another group that will help finance Perry’s economic model.

Make Us Great Again raised $5.6 million two years ago to support Perry’s presidential run with ads, polling and outreach. The note from Toomey and Ryan to those contributors said they would like to transfer the unspent $212,608 balance of Make Us Great Again to the newly-formed Americans for Economic Freedom.

Americans for Economic Freedom, according to the filing with the IRS, is to promote the legal and regulatory system that, not incidentally, has been championed by Perry. The backbone of his political message, both as governor and in his presidential run, was low-regulation, low-taxes and lawsuit limits.

Goodhair really thinks that GOP primary voters are stupid or have weak memories. Goodhair is hoping that the GOP primary voters will forget about his "Oops" incident and Goodhair could be right about the intelligence of GOP primary voters.
