Texas Air Base Commander has Zombie Defense Plan

Sometimes, it's nice to know there's a plan of action.

ABILENE (AP)--Preparing for all eventualities, a wing commander at a West Texas Air Force base says he has a plan for defending the base from attacks by zombies.

Brig. Gen. Glen VanHerck commands the 7th Bomb Wing at Dyess Air Force Base near Abilene. His answer to an online Q&A session that he had a zombie defense plan drew attention from the magazine Air Force Times.

VanHerck told the Abilene Reporter-News he didn't intend to attract that much attention, only to show the Dyess community he was "approachable" and a human with a sense of humor.

And the plan? First, secure the base. Second, alert base personnel via Internet, public access television and social media. Next, fortify all gates, airdrop supplies to Abilene neighborhoods, then launch B-1Bs against the zombies.

heads of the worst thing supposedly that could happen. It just resembles it when they think about a zombie apocalypse. They believe that "those damn liberals are going to cause the govt to fail "then all those welfare checks won't get sent and that will cause them to leave the inner city and come in hordes and packs to their rural neighborhood and attack them for the can goods and last nights leftovers". "Better get you a 12 guage and defend your Libby's peaches and your Dinty Moore Beef Stew man". The story is told generation after generation that that is what is eventually going to happen...actually its always ABOUT to happen. I can see it now...those little hayseeds in their camouflage, with their Skoal can in the back pocket...telling this story round a fire at night while they fill their bottom lip with the dip. The rest nodding their heads in agreement.

The zombie apocalypse stories just resembles their little caucasian nightmares. I knew there was a "certain segment" of the population that would be unusually attracted to the zombie stories and take them a bit too serious
