TCEQ Approves Permit for Big North Texas Reservoir

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has approved the permit for construction of North Texas' Lake Ralph Hall, the first major new reservoir to be built in the state in decades.

In a statement, the National Wildlife Federation expressed its disappointment, claiming the agency had "missed a golden opportunity to advance water conservation in Texas."

The project now awaits approval from the Army Corps of Engineers, which will focus on the lake's potential impact on natural resources.
