Anti-gay Houston candidate who pretended to be black may also have lied about where he lives

When anti-gay activist Dave Wilson got elected last month by pretending he was black, he also may have been deceiving voters about where he lives.

The Harris County attorney filed a lawsuit against Wilson on Thursday alleging the perennial candidate doesn’t live in the district he was elected to represent on the Houston Community College board. Wilson’s wife lists an address outside the district as her residence, but Wilson reportedly used the address of his office.

It’s not the first time Wilson has been accused of lying about his residence to qualify for an election. He sued after being kept off the ballot when he tried to run for county commissioner in 2010.

From the Houston Chronicle:

Wilson, who ousted HCC Chairman Bruce Austin in the Nov. 5 election by 26 votes, contends that he lives in “a 1,140-square-foot apartment upstairs” at his office, located at 5600 W. 34th St. in the college system’s District II.

The building there is an 11,340-square-foot commercial metal warehouse, according to county records.

Asked Thursday if he was living separately from his wife, Wilson said, “That’s a personal matter, and it’s none of yours or the Chronicle’s business.”

“I think that county records still show that we’re married. That’s all I’ll say,” Wilson said.

As a former employee of Dave Wilson and have worked with both Dave & Connie, his wife, they've always lived under the same roof. He never lived on 34th St. but I recall on several occasions he would use the 34th St. address for political reasons.
