Travis County Allows Gun Show Contract To Expire After Company Refuses To Pilot Background Checks

After weeks of negotiations a contract between Saxet Gun Shows and Travis County will expire without being renewed due to the companies refusal to consider background checks on person to person individual gun purchases.
National Instant Criminal Background Checks are provided free by the FBI and take just moments to perform but the owner of Saxet says, "it is it is not really my job to infringe on anyone's rights." According to the Statesman, "The background checks would have affected a small subset of gun show sales, estimated to be about 10 percent. Federally-licensed firearms sellers are already required to run a criminal background check..."

I'll guarantee they'll still deny it.

Accolades to Travis County administrators, willing to face gun fanciers' whining.

No, he votes troglodytes into the government to do that 'job' for him.

Likely anotber traitorous Tenther who thinks the gubermint is coming for him, but he went to them to make more money. He didn't lose anything but a license from the evil gubermint to make more money and let folons carry guns.

Pretty sure he and Stockman will be on the campaign trail against the evil gubermint suppressing the Second, restraining free the market and making regulations and paying fees and taxes. Might as well go done the rabbit hole all the way.

Wonder what he thinks about that glorious free market philosophy in Mexico with the drug cartels. Or his guns ending up in the hands of what they like to refer to gang bangers (which conveniently in their screeds turn out to be people of color), to rob his law-abiding buyers at home.

There's a whole world of crazy with thess guys and government has only scratched the surface of so far. And it won't, as long as asshole voters keep electing people who agree with 'em.

Yes, it's democracy with an accent on the mob mentality that has no sense of social responsibility or respect for law or order unless they get a buck off of it. I'm glad he didn't get his license... but if he has means, he'll just do it illegally.

That's what they want, lawlessness and might makes right, my gun's bigger than your gun. What a world they swallowed watching Hollywood and network shows glorifying instant gratification.

Got a problem? Shoot it!

Okay, over. Thanks for the news story, JoethePleb

NICS checks are provided free to Federally Licensed Dealers, who have to provide their license number as part of the call.

So what this would require is that dealers (some? all?) agree to perform this service (for free?), checking guns into their inventory temporarily, filling out a form 4473, then 'selling' the gun to the purchaser.
