You'd think they would learn.

Last night, the executive director of the Republican Party of Texas said that income inequality for women was due to bad negotiation skills:

"Instead of pursuing the courts for action, they need to be better negotiators."

This is on the heels of a key Greg Abbott ally claiming that women were "too busy" to care about equal pay.

You don't need me to tell you that equal pay protections have nothing to do with "negotiation."

Perhaps even more troubling: These were not gaffes. They didn't misspeak -- our opponents actually believe this stuff. Greg Abbott himself went so far as to defend wage discrimination in the courts, but didn't mind cashing in a 62% pay raise for himself.

People like you and candidates like Wendy Davis and Leticia Van de Putte aren't going to let Republicans force their out of touch values on the women of Texas.

Add your name to say that you've had enough and are ready to get to work alongside Battleground Texas:

have pretty overt policies about paying women less, I'd hardly say it's about negotiating skills.

The GOP and Greg Abbott are determined to alienate female voters. Here an executive director of the Texas GOP is stupid enough to state that the reason that women are underpaid is due to the fact that they can not negotiate. Juanita Jean disagrees http://www.juanitajean.com/2014/03/18/and-its-our-fault-when-we-get-raped-too/

They find another woman who says that it’s women’s own fault if they aren’t paid equal to a man in the same job.

No, seriously. I have it on tape. It will be the most surreal 25 seconds of your day.

Do these Republicans ever talk to each other? Yesterday women were too damn busy to get equal pay but today they need to add some schooling in their busy day and feel real bad about themselves if they don’t have time to learn a new set of life skills because they were so busy yesterday.

So what Republicans are telling us is that if they are re-elected, women are totally screwed.

Okay, I’m pretty sure we already knew that but we appreciate Republicans reinforcing it.

Greg and the GOP are determined to alienate women. This latest quote is simply amazing to me.

get fair and equal pay? GOP wants to intimidate women for asking, then insult them, with this GOPer excusing the employer. A court case is expensive for an employee to bring so settling out of court, must be the form of negotiating the GOP is referring to? Assholes.
