U.S. energy export can break Russian stranglehold on European market, Cornyn says

BEAUMONT, TEXAS -- U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, in calling Russian President Vladimir Putin a thug for snatching the Crimea in the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, said it's likely "a done deal" that can't be undone, even with economic sanctions applied.

In an appearance at the Lamar Institute of Technology to hear about demand for high-paying petrochemical and related jobs from local industrial leaders, Cornyn said the United States could help loosen Putin's "stranglehold" on the European energy market by creating alternative supply methods such as liquefied natural gas exports.

He said the Obama administration should do what it can to expedite permitting for potential exporters like the Golden Pass terminal in Sabine Pass, jointly owned by ExxonMobil and Persian Gulf partner Qatar Petroleum.

Golden Pass project executive Bill Davis said if the terminal received needed permits, it could begin to export LNG by 2018.

us, the consumer, by hiding behind getting a permit to punish Putin. Hope the American People and the Obama Administration do not fall for this big lie. Stockholders of energy shares and the MIC contractors and hedge funders are getting less money on their investments this year, not any increases, as they have devastated the economy by Trickle-Up to the point that they are now going to have to dip from the upper middle class. The poor and lower middle class have nothing more to give and cannot buy much now. Food prices have risen steadily with an increase of over 3% predicted this year. What is the cost of water going to become as gas companies past the cost of fracking on to Americans? Investors pass their overhead on to you and me so they can have an ever increasing dividend/return. Trickle Up has absorbed too much money out of the economy. Senator Cornyn, you need to go back home and stay out of lawmaking as you speak and act out for the wealthy; you clown. Let's tell Cornyn, "No, we are keeping our resources here at home to control the price we pay at the pump".
