Two Texas Churches Designated 'Hate Groups'

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has designated two Texas churches as hate groups, defined as groups that "have beliefs or practices that attack or malign an entire class of people, typically for their immutable characteristics."

Probe Ministries in Plano, and Stedfast Baptist Church in Fort Worth were both added to the SPLC list because of their anti-LGBT message. They share their notoriety with Black separatists, the Ku Klux Klan, Neo-Confederates, Neo-Nazis, racist skinheads and three dozen other hate-filled Texas organizations.

The vision statement of the church:

Pastor Donnie Romero started an independent fundamental Baptist church in the summer of 2014. Pastor Romero loves soul-winning and has a vision for Stedfast Baptist Church to eventually knock every door in the greater DFW area and to give every resident a chance to accept or reject the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

This church is old-fashioned, has traditional music, and is King James Bible only! The new evangelical movement in America has been a complete disaster. The worldly, rock and roll, contemporary-style churches are not getting the job done when it comes to preaching the Gospel to every creature, teaching Bible doctrine, and preaching hard against sin. We do not pattern our church after these trendy social clubs. Stedfast Baptist Church stands for the old paths and zero compromise preaching.

My take:
Sin obviously includes all non-missionary and non-traditional (man/woman) sex outside of marriage. And speaking of Pastor Donnie Romero, he had this to say last year in a sermon:

"The acolyte of a notoriously anti-LGBT pastor preached a sermon Sunday calling for “queers” and “dirty f*ggots” to be put to death.

Pastor Donnie Romero, founder of Stedfast Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, carried on the violent message of his mentor, Pastor Steven L. Anderson – who recently called for gays to be executed to promote an “AIDS-free Christmas.”

Romero also said:
“I’m not going to let any of these dirty f*ggots inside my church,” Romero continued. “They are all pedophiles. Look in the Bible. Every time it shows the sodomites, in Genesis 19 and Judges 19, they’re always trying to rape and hurt other people. They’re relentless. They are relentless. They are predators and given an opportunity to snatch one of your children, they would do it in a heartbeat.”

No wonder that the SPLC designated them a hate group.

What self-respecting god would allow this to be said in their name without blasting the offender on the spot.

predicated on nonviolence, forgiveness, mutual respect, and "doing unto others"... can be perverted to serve other ends.

Jesus said absolutely nothing about abortion, or non-hetero sex, but He said a lot about the rich having a difficult time entering into the kingdom.
