UMC, Shallowater homes, Lubbock bank among places reporting flooding

Heavy rain caused flooding in Lubbock area homes, businesses and at University Medical Center.

In an email to A-J Media, Eric Finley, spokesperson for University Medical Center, said UMC is experiencing flooding in four different levels of the hospital including the basement, first, second and fourth floors.

Water is currently in IT, health records, administration, day surgery and in the Medical ICU, he wrote.

Shallowater residents are reporting about six to 12 inches of water in several homes.

I went downtown to take some pictures of the Colorado River and the TexasTowelie Press (TTP) will post them after a nice lukewarm shower.

On high ground. If the roof holds up, good shape. Already had to put a patch on it.

Have some comparison pictures of the 1900 flood?

Looked again, there is some violet in that line.

The river is about 10 feet under the bridge next to Los Cucos restaurant and still within the upper banks so there has not been any flooding, but the river isn't expected to crest until tomorrow.

Houston, Tex., April 13.---The Colorado river flood has now reached Wharton, and half the town is under water. So far there has been only one casualty, a Negro refugee being drowned in trying to reach the town. The people all got out of the bottoms and flocked to the town, driving their cattle before hem.
