Hubs and I drove to Fredericksburg, (it's a very wealthy tourist town) - we went to a restaurant that the locals favor. Two young bubba's at the next table - of course their conversation went to Trumpery and Hillary. They began trashing my girl in earnest ....until the younger one caught my eye. I gave him my very best "mommie dearest " look. Daggers, disgust, then the slits - everything non verbal I could muster. He almost choked mid sentence. Turned red, changed the subject and never caught my eye again.

(7,572 posts)part of the Hill Country; south Texas includes the coastal plains between SA and the Mexican border. Mostly blue, including San Antonio, although SA has plenty of Trump contributors (wealth).
Fredericksburg is definitely part of the rural red Repub. However, I believe many Republican women in this area will NOT be voting for Trump.

(28,254 posts)even in "deep red south Texas" where I'm located. A few Trump bumper stickers, even fewer yard signs. Nothing close to the visible support on display for Romney, four years ago. And the county where I live routinely goes 75% republican. I honestly think Trump is a source of profound embarrassment for area repubs.
