WELCOME BACK, TEXANS!

You know who I thought of while the hack was in effect? I thought about all those haughty, bi-coastal blue-staters who have lobbed insults at us and our state over the years, here at DU. How do you think they felt, last week? They go to bed on a Tuesday night, thinking all's well with the world---and they wake up in Texas!

Welcome to our world, Texas Bashers. Let's start thinking of ways to make things better......

One really great development from the election: Harris County now has a D Tax-Assessor/Collector. Who is also in charge of voter registration. I think you will see Harris County D numbers swell further, even in gubernatorial years, from the awesome voter inclusion activities from Ms. Bennett. We could start to flip our entire local judiciary blue. And that's how you win - from the bottom up.

Raw data from our county:

Trump 60% (of course - this is Ron Paul's old stomping grounds) - 73K votes
Clinton nearly 36% - 43K votes
Johnson 3% - nearly 3800 votes
Stein nearly 1% (granted some in this category likely only took the option because they knew it would be a 60/30 type race) - approx. 800 votes
and a smattering of other local candidates.

Trump got more than Romney

More actual votes this time (121K votes vs. 106K votes in 2012)
