3 men accused in shooting of Judge Kocurek to go on trial in October 2017

A trial is set for next fall in a federal case that authorities say involved the attempted assassination of Travis County district court Judge Julie Kocurek.

Chimene Onyeri of Houston and two other men are accused of being his co-conspirators in a racketeering scheme that authorities say led to a shooting attack on Kocurek outside her West Austin home.

Attorneys for Onyeri and Marcellus Burgin and Rasul Scott have yet to receive any of the prosecution's discovery content, but should be getting it soon.
