Federal authorities raid state Sen. Carlos Uresti's San Antonio law office
Several agents with the FBI and the Internal Revenue Service raided the law offices of state Sen. Carlos Uresti on Thursday morning.
Agents confiscated documents from the office of the Democratic lawmaker, who is embroiled in an investigation into his role at a company accused of defrauding investors.
Uresti said he is cooperating with investigators.
"Today, FBI agents are in my office, reviewing our documents as part of their broad investigation of the Four Winds matter,” Uresti confirmed in a statement. “ I have instructed my staff to fully cooperate with the federal investigators. I will help them in whatever way I can.”
He said he remains at the Texas Capitol to work on budget, foster children, and veterans and border security issues.
