Amarillo man pleads guilty after feds find 91 guns on Mobeetie property; Lamborghini, nearly $25,000
A local man pleaded guilty Wednesday in Amarillo federal court on charges of felon in possession of a firearm after federal agents found 91 firearms on his Mobeetie property.
Pat Jarrett Helton, 43, of Amarillo, of faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine after he pleaded guilty to one count of felon in possession, according to a news release from the Northern District of Texas. Helton was convicted in 2003 of a felony offense for possession of an unregistered firearm and was sentenced to 46 months in federal prison, the release said.
Helton was arrested after a search warrant was executed on his property in Mobeetie, where authorities found three stolen guns and at least four semi-automatics capable of accepting large capacity magazines, according to a news release.
Agents also found large quantities of ammunition, the release said.
