Randalls closes Houston operations, adding staff to Albertsons facilities in Roanoke, Fort Worth

Albertsons is closing the Randalls distribution center and office in Houston, cutting 205 jobs there.

The Houston operations are being combined with Albertsons' office in Fort Worth and its distribution center in Roanoke.

The office transition will happen over the next three months and the distribution center will take longer, said Albertsons spokeswoman Connie Yates said.

The grocery retailer operates 29 Randalls stores in Houston and 15 in Austin.

The Randall's stores in Austin are affiliated with Safeway. Lucerne products and all that.

Albatross's left Austin several years ago.
