San Patricio County Attorney looking into possible Violations of the Open Meetings Act

SAN PATRICIO COUNTY - The San Patricio County Attorney has concerns about possible violations of the Open Meetings Act by the County Commissioners. She's considering taking legal action against the court if things don't change.

For every County Commissioners meeting, an agenda is released to let the public know what will be discussed. San Patricio County Attorney, Tamara Cochran-May, says it's that agenda she believes may violate the Open Meetings Act. The violation being items listed are extremely vague.

The County Attorney showed KRIS 6 News a few examples on a previous agenda. "This one. Report, discussion, and possible action on current health department activities," said Cochran-May about an agenda item. "They need to have what the department activities are on there.

"That's not the way it should be because the public should be made aware of what is going on in Commissioners Count," said Cochran-May about the agenda.
