Austin Cap Metro bus service coming to Round Rock

Capital Metro bus service is coming to Round Rock for the first time after Round Rock City Council members approved an agreement with the transit provider at their Thursday night meeting.

The agreement will bring the city’s first fixed bus routes, which are slated to start this summer. The service includes four fixed routes, three of which include at least one stop in Austin.

Mayor Alan McGraw said the bus routes into Austin will help local commuters traveling to Austin bypass traffic and congestion. “It’s going to be a great alternative; it’ll be good to see it come to fruition,” he said.

Now that the agreement has received council approval, it is scheduled for a vote Monday by Capital Metro’s board of directors.
