La Vernia High School athletes arrested on sexual assault charges stemming from hazing incident
Multiple La Vernia High School athletes were arrested Thursday on sexual assault charges stemming from a hazing incident, according to a news release.
According to a statement from La Vernia Chief of Police Bruce Ritchey and lead investigator Sgt. Donald Keil, police received a hazing outcry several weeks ago regarding high school student athletes.
Police interviewed numerous students and determined that a crime had been committed. They launched an investigation, which resulted in the arrests of several "juvenile students" at La Vernia High School.
"The students were returned to the La Vernia Police Department where they were magistrated and processed by the Wilson County Juvenile Probation Office," according to the statement.
