Blue Bell introduces new Bride's Cake ice cream

Inspired by stories of couples serving Blue Bell at their weddings with, or instead of, their wedding cakes, Blue Bell Ice Cream is introducing a new tradition just in time for wedding season.

The creamery announced the limited-time release of a new "Bride's Cake" flavor on Monday.

Bride's Cake, modeled after classic towering showstopper cakes often at the center of wedding celebrations, is almond ice cream swirled with white cake pieces and amaretto cream cheese icing.

A companion Groom's Cake flavor — chocolate ice cream with chocolate cake pieces, chocolate-coated strawberry hearts, strawberry sauce and chocolate icing — was initially released in 2009 when a Blue Bell employee was inspired to emulate the cake he had at a family wedding.

1. I stopped eating Blue Bell after the listeria mess and has not restarted

2. I stopped prior to that because of HFCS

and diabetes II, but the way they handled the listeria thing bothered me, and I haven't bought any for my kid since that happened.
