Bikers involved in Sunday morning assault at Waco bar

Waco police are investigating an incident in which members of a Bandidos motorcycle gang support group assaulted a man before the victim pulled a gun, started firing and ran away.

Police were called to the Chapter 11 Club, 619 Esther St., about 2 a.m. Sunday on reports of a fight with shots fired. Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said officers reported that seven members of a unnamed biker group affiliated with the Bandidos assaulted a man.

Swanton declined to identify the name of the biker group.

One of the group held a knife to the victim’s neck until he was able to pull a gun from his waistband and fired several shots, Swanton said. He escaped the assault and ran from the bar, witnesses reported.

Those involved in the fight fled the scene before officers arrived.
