(14,725 posts)I will block walk but think phone banking is not effective. Did you find it so?

(30,733 posts)Some people need to be reminded many times to go to the polls. They need to be made aware of alternatives like early voting.
I have had people go to the polls at the last minute because I called. Also, a friend of mine lost a school board election by one vote because people were too lazy to vote. I distributed literature for her and went to information meetings. I wish I had phone banked. Maybe I could have found two voters.

Having said that, being on the receiving end of phone hankering as well as being one, I can get quite irritated.

(22,250 posts)seems to be my best option for cleaning up this mess. I know my neighborhood has had a lot of new families move in, and older adults move out.
My area is not too large, distance wise. With a few other walkers I can make a dent.
Good news is that all of my "Hard Dems" had voted early so I did not need to call them the weekend between early voting and election day.
