For four decades, one of college football's premier rivalries -- Alabama and Auburn -- refused to meet on the football field because of disputes in game contracts.
Lyle Larson, a Texas state representative and Aggie, is doing his part to make sure that a similar headline doesn't describe the football rivalry between Texas A&M and the University of Texas.
Tuesday, the Republican representative from San Antonio and a member of A&M's class of 1981 filed House Bill 412 for the 86th Legislature, which requires the two universities to schedule an annual nonconference football game on the fourth Thursday, Friday or Saturday of November.

(42,523 posts)Considering the lyrics of their fight song are 100% about defeating UT but they sing it no matter who they are playing, not playing UT has got to leave them with a bit of an identity crisis. It's honestly a little over the edge creepy.

(2,343 posts)are a bunch of crybabies. They have always resented playing second fiddle to UT. They knew that even if they were to go undefeated while UT went winless, they still wouldn't be loved the way UT is. I suspect that's why they took their ugly maroon behinds to the SEC. Also, college station is a poop dump compared to Austin. Hell, i even root for Alabama when they play the aggies and i LOATHE Alabama.
