EDINBURG - The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley has finally achieved a clean accreditation slate as the accrediting entity decided to lift the probation on Tuesday.

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges held its annual board meeting this week. On Tuesday morning, the last day of the meeting, UTRGV's standing was cleared.

Well, it's predecessor, Pan American University which later became UT Pan American, and finally UTRGV.

Glad to see they once again have a clean slate.

The RGV was ignored for so long as far as having quality universities so it's great to see that they resolved their accreditation issues.
