Marble Falls police officials are sending out an alert to residents about a possible mountain lion sighting May 8 near two churches within the city limits, according to a press release.
[We] received an unconfirmed report of a possible mountain lion sighting in the wooded area east of 400 Avenue N, the release stated.
A person reported to police that they spotted what they believed to be a mountain lion, also known as a puma or cougar, in the early morning hours that day.
Although this is an unconfirmed event, we want to notify residents in the area so that they may take proper precautions regarding children and pets, an MFPD spokesperson stated in the release.

(57,063 posts)a couple of weeks ago I counted more than a dozen buzzards, a neutria chewed down a small Cottonwood, all sorts of deer, I've heard owls at night. I saw an armadillo digging for grubs a week back - a mountain lion wouldn't surprise me.
That some idiot hasn't shot it if there were one would not surprise me either.
My cat is an indoor cat. Otherwise he'd be on the menu.
I hadn't heard about the lion, but then local newspapers are abysmal.
The Highlander is OK, we know the owners and they are selling out to a group that buys local papers. We think it'll be turned into a classifieds with "news"

(23,083 posts)They hang out around the river where it's really shallow or roost somewhere right above the water where they can jump in for a succulent morsel.
