The football stadiums in Texas just keeping getting bigger.
The latest cathedral to pigskin is the new $50+ million Children's Health Stadium, which will host Prosper (Texas) High School. Prosper is a northern suburb of Dallas.
In total, the stadium will seat 12,000 fans and houses the largest video board in any Texas high school stadium, football or otherwise.
According to Gregg Riddle of the Dallas Morning News, the final construction cost for the building was $53 million.

(38,958 posts)One would hope that teacher salaries are high and that the classrooms are all full fitted out with all the necessary and all the latest equipment, but its their money so it is theirs to do with as they wish.

Last week, they announced they will sell individual game tickets because not enough peeps are buying season tix.

(102,225 posts)If even 10% of that went toward actual education, I'd be less upset. I don't dislike football and I certainly know the obsession--especially in Texas and the Southeast. But, this is beyond obscene.
