Northeast El Paso city Rep. Sam Morgan indicted on felony charge in domestic violence case
Northeast El Paso city Rep. Sam Morgan now faces a felony charge stemming from a domestic violence incident in which he is accused of hitting his wife.
The indictment for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was filed Nov. 14 and was assigned to the 384th state District Court, according to El Paso County court records.
The district clerk's office ordered that Morgan be served with a copy of the indictment Wednesday. Morgan then posted a $15,000 surety bond on the charge Thursday, according to jail bond records.
District Court staff said Morgan turned himself in.
