Hearing on Texas Democratic Party lawsuit is on facebook

The Texas Democratic Party Party is suing on vote by mail. Texas law only allows vote by mail due to an excuse such as being disabled. The party is arguing that the threat of COVID 19 is sufficient to justify vote by mail for all persons concerned about voting while COVID 19 is active. I am under 65 in age but I have several risk factors and I am thinking about voting by mail.

The hearing is being held on zoom or telephone conference The Harris County Democratic Lawyer Association has the hearing up on facebook. Here is a link

The hearing was interesting. Persons who vote by mail due to fear of COVID 19 faced potential prosecution and groups who advise voters to vote by mail faced prosecution

The court indicated that it was inclined to rule in favor of allowing voters to vote by mail if they fear COVID 19 and this would protect groups who advise voters to vote by mail
